Projekt

Midstad Düsseldorf Kasernenstraße

Right in the heart of Düsseldorf's city center at Kasernenstrasse 6, a new multi-use property is being developed that promises new perspectives. In close cooperation with the city of Düsseldorf, based on plans by architects RKW Architektur +, a boutique hotel in the luxury segment is being created with around 136 rooms, a publicly accessible rooftop restaurant with bar and spacious roof terrace on the top floor and two high-quality retail spaces on the first floor.

The transformation of the existing building from 1982, adjacent to the Wilhelm-Marx-Haus, is based on a resource-conserving timber hybrid construction method for the extension - including a new, striking clinker brick façade in combination with natural stone along Kasernenstrasse. The aim is to achieve the DGNB platinum certification. The roof-mounted photovoltaic system supports the building's sustainable energy supply.

A highlight for Düsseldorf: the publicly accessible restaurant on the roof terrace offers spectacular views and will become a new meeting point for guests and the cities’ community - a place that combines urban quality, openness and architectural presence.
